Pragyan Ojha Likely to Join as South Zone Selector

Former fast bowler Ajit Agarkar currently heads the men’s selection committee, which also includes Sharath (South Zone), Ajay Ratra (North Zone), Subroto Banerjee (East Zone), and Shiv Sunder Das (Central Zone).
According to the Times of India, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha is set to join the committee as the South Zone representative. He is expected to replace Sridharan Sharath, whose term concludes in September. Pragyan Ojha appointment is anticipated to be the only change in the men’s selection committee.
Meanwhile, Sharath may take over from Thilak Naidu as the junior chief selector. He has been serving as a national senior selector since January 2023.
The Board has outlined eligibility criteria and invited applications for two positions. Candidates must have played at least seven Test matches, thirty First-Class matches, or ten ODIs along with twenty First-Class matches. Additionally, nominees should have retired from professional cricket at least five years ago and must not have served on any BCCI cricket committee for a cumulative period of five years.
