At Kernan Aviation we can offer you the experience of a 30 or 60 minute trial flight to give you a taste of the freedom of flying over the beautiful scenic Ulster countryside.

You can fly along the River Bann, over Coney Island and the shores of Lough Neagh or in the 60 minute flight you can go as far as the beautiful Mourne Mountains, Newcastle and Kilkeel or if you wish you can choose your own route. It's up to you!

You will be flying in the Ikarus C42, known as the BMW of the skies, which is fully enclosed and has a heater so there is no need to worry about the cold! During this flight you will be able to take control and fly the aircraft yourself under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors.

Don't forget your camera or camcorder to capture the spectacular views for friends and family!

The Mourne Mountains and Queens Bay, Islay

If you wish to take in more of the scenic countryside, perhaps fly over the beautiful Mourne Mountains then we would recommend you go for the 60 minute trial flight/ lesson.

With the additional time you can fly further afield and again if you wish you can choose your own route so don't forget to bring your camera/camcorder to share this exhilarating experience with your friends and family!

60 minute trial flight/lesson including short introduction covering what to expect during your flight - Cost £115

Looking over Lough Erne and into Donegal

If you wish to continue to experience the thrills and joys of flight after your trial lesson, Kernan Aviation can offer you the opportunity to purchase 5 or 10 hour packages.

With our flight packages you will recieve full briefing of the excercise you are about to undertake followed by 1 hour flight instruction. Over a cup of coffee at the end of the flight, your instructor will discuss with you how you felt the flight went and what the next lesson will involve.

5 Hour Package - 5 hrs flying time and preflight briefing for each excercise, includes Microlight Pilots Handbook Cost - £480. The book to be collected with first lesson.

10 hour Package - 10 hrs flying time and preflight briefing for each excercise, includes Microlight Pilots handbook, logbook, map, kneepad and all navigation equipment - value £105. This is a discount of £55 - Cost £1050. Pack to be collected with first lesson.

If you would prefer you can take one lesson at a time at £100 per flying hour - just book your lesson and pay on the day. Whichever you choose, you will be looked after in a professional manner and in a friendly environment where you can enjoy the challenge of becoming a microlight pilot.
